If you could do it all again
As technology advances, a new reality unfolds—a parallel universe known as the Metaverse, a virtual world that offers boundless opportunities yet poses a silent threat to human connection. In this space, people are drawn away from tangible interactions, spending more time in immersive digital environments that fulfill every social and personal need. The allure of the virtual world becomes so compelling that the physical world begins to feel distant, like a strange planet, leaving individuals confined to rooms that become their entire worlds. Through the lens of one individual's experience, this series explores the consequences of our growing dependence on immersive technologies that tempt us to forsake tangible reality for meticulously crafted digital environments. By blurring the boundaries between the physical and the virtual, these images explore how, despite advancements meant to connect us, technology may instead entrap us, severing the ties to our shared humanity. Are these shifts inevitable? And what happens when the allure of limitless digital freedom undermines our authentic connections?
